God addresses and condemns homosexuality in His holy scripture. The Bible is very clear as is the Torah. Homosexuality is a sin that is condemned by God.
Many scripture passages condemn homosexuality. Among them is Leviticus 18:22, Deuteronomy 23:17 and Genesis 19 in the Torah and the Old Testament of the Holy Bible; and Romans 1:24-32, I Corinthians 6:9 & 10 and Jude 1:5 - 7 in the New Testament of the Holy Bible. There are more.
Anything and everything that is found in the Old Testament of the Christians' Bible or the Jews' Torah, that is confirmed in the Bible's New Testament, and that is taught by Jesus and the apostles is God's true Biblical doctrine. We are to accept it, believe it, practice it, experience it, preach it and teach it.
Churches, know and understand this: a practicing homosexual, gay or lesbian, is not qualified for church membership or church service of any kind; practicing homosexuals must be denied church membership and must not serve in any capacity in any Christian church, no exceptions.
But all repentant sinners, saved by God's grace through the shed blood of Jesus the Christ, are qualified for membership and service in any Christian church, and that does include repentant homosexuals who are no longer in the gay or lesbian lifestyle.
In I Timothy, Chapter 1, in the Bible of every Christian of every denomination and of every church, Apostle Paul says, "Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm." Words all church leaders should heed today.
And St. Paul continues, "But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully; knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, for whoremongers, for THEM THAT DEFILE THEMSELVES WITH MANKIND, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine; according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust."
But, like Paul, who was by his own words "a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious," homosexuals may obtain mercy. And, as Paul says, "the grace of the Lord (is) exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus."
"For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God; not of works, lest any man should boast," according to Ephesians 2:8 & 9, which continues in verse 10, "For you are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God has before ordained that we should walk in them."
So not one person is called by God or qualified to work for Him until they have truthfully acknowledged and confessed their sins to Him, sincerely and truly repented, totally turned away from those sins, asked God to forgive those sins in Jesus holy name and accepted Jesus the Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.
And once one is saved "by grace...through faith" in the lord Jesus Christ, they are not only called and qualified to work; they are commanded to get to work for Him!
